3rd annual Power of the Sun Poster Contest
We’re excited to be holding once again our Power of the Sun poster contest and invite 5th Graders in the Capital Region to enter for a chance to win a pizza party for their class.
We want to challenge children to think creatively about solar energy. Using any form of media, students are asked to create an original poster depicting the importance of solar energy to our planet and all living things, how it benefits our lives today, and how it will power our future. The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 3rd.
This contest is open to 5th Grade students living in the Capital Region and enrolled in a public or private school here. Teachers are encouraged to enter everyone in their class to increase the school’s chances of winning.

The Power of the Sun poster contest is part of Eden’s innovative educational support program which aims to give students the chance to learn beyond the school grounds about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) subjects. Our goal is for schools to embed these opportunities into their day-to-day learning, and for children to aspire to careers in Green STEM fields, jobs that benefit the environment.
