Looking back on the last school year and ahead to the next!
The Eden Education team has completed our 7th year of educational support initiatives linked to our community solar farms in New York.
Take a peek at our highlights from the 2024/25 school year.
Field Trips
52 junior high and high school students visited solar farms this spring to learn about the science behind the technology, materials used, and the journey of energy to their homes. Together, we also had thoughtful discussions surrounding the variety of agriculture - livestock and produce - that can thrive in a solar farm environment, and why.
In-school workshops
230 elementary students engaged with us across seven workshops at two schools. We participated in one school’s Earth Day celebration and led the 3rd graders in the hands-on creation of pollinator-friendly wildflower seed balls using clay, soil, seeds, and water. We also enjoyed Solar Oven workshops with four classes of 5th graders who were eager to work in teams to build their ovens, then step out of the classroom and watch the sun take over.
Career Fairs
The team was invited to two career fairs hosted by local schools, where our interactive booth was seen by over 450 junior high and high school students. We matched student interests with potential jobs in the industry, from engineering and construction to marketing and law.
Scholarships
We were pleased to award our 2025 Green STEAM Scholarship to twelve graduates from seven school districts in Upstate New York, with a total value of $18,500.
The recipients were honored at a Scholarship Reception where they met our team and their fellow recipients, some of whom are attending the same universities.
Eden’s Green STEAM Scholarship Program was established to support students' interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics in fields that benefit the environment,
linking to our community solar projects in each town.
What’s on the horizon
See below for our 2025/26 Booking Schedule. We will generally book activities for school groups near our host communities in the groupings below. Interact with the map on our Locations page to see if there is a solar farm near you.
