Town of Glen community solar projects now approved
In February, the Town of Glen approved our two solar developments in town, Van Epps and Mohawk View Solar. When constructed, these community solar farms will be adjacent to each other with a combined capacity of 10 MW, generating enough green electricity to power about 2,450 average homes annually.
Chief Development Officer Giovanni Maruca said, “The Planning Board’s hands-on and collaborative approach helped ensure our proposed developments are in compliance with local ordinances. We would like to thank Town Supervisor John Thomas, Planning Board Chair Tim Reilly, Town Clerk Roxanne Douglass, and the rest of the members of the Planning Board for their cooperation throughout the permitting process.”
These are our fourth and fifth projects approved in the Capital Region. The other three were approved in Schodack and Duanesburg and are scheduled to break ground later this year, subject to the pandemic. Four additional projects are currently undergoing the approval process in their host communities. For details on each, check out Solar Projects.
