The town of Bethlehem in upstate New York will soon have one new community solar farm!

The Bethlehem Planning Board recently approved our Hof project. The project has a capacity of 7.5 MW which will generate enough green power for about 1,225 average-sized homes., saving approximately 310,000 pounds of CO2 each year (Source: EPA).

Construction will begin early next year. Subscribers to this community solar farm can save 10% on their electricity bills while supporting their local community, healthy pollinator habitats, and a clean energy future. Like all of our sites in the Capital District, Hof solar farm will include wildflower meadows to provide habitats for bees and other pollinators. Beehives on site will offer pollination services that support local farmers. Nesting boxes will be installed along the perimeter for birds and bats. Ecological surveys will be conducted annually to track progress and continuously improve the site.

The projects have established an annual education fund of $3,000 for Ravena-Coymen-Selkirk Central School District-- $2,000 towards site visits and in-school workshops and $1,000 towards the Green STEAM Scholarship--to encourage and support student interest in STEM subjects.
