Get to know Eden: 5 questions with Jonaliza Ceklic

Jonaliza Ceklic joined Eden in July 2018 after almost a decade of working in politics and state government. She is the person responsible for managing Eden’s marketing, communications, PR, and community engagement efforts for the US market. Most of what you see about Eden in public is the result of her work, including these 5-questions blog posts. Now it’s her turn to share a little bit about herself:

Eden: What drew you to Eden Renewables originally?

Jonaliza: My primary career objective has always been to do meaningful work, which was something I thought I could achieve in the environmental conservation and preservation arena. I didn’t really consider the renewable energy sector until I learned about Eden’s ethos. I’m proud to be working for a company that chooses to be on the right side of history when it comes to fighting climate change and biodiversity loss by developing sustainable energy sources that are also habitats for wildlife among other things.

Eden: What do you like most about your role?

Jonaliza: Aside from what I mentioned previously, the many opportunities to be creative and innovative. There’s something so satisfying about seeing your ideas come to fruition and contribute to the growth and success of the company.

Eden: What are your hopes for our industry?

Jonaliza: My hope is that our nation—really, the world!—completely stops relying on fossil fuels and that our transition to 100% renewables is seamless.

Eden: What is your favorite quote/mantra?

Jonaliza: Buddha’s "What we think, we become" mantra. I agree with the belief that you can manifest your thoughts into reality and often practice that through meditation.

Eden: What do you like to do on your days off?

Jonaliza: I like to dabble in arts and crafts because it’s so therapeutic, macrame currently being my medium of choice. Of course, spending time with my daughter as much as I can before she gets too old to want to be with her mommy. I’m also working on becoming physically active again; I hope to be back in the yoga/barre studio. I look forward to the end of the pandemic to resume my adventure and travel plans. And can’t forget about catching up on graduate school work! Safe to say I stay pretty busy.
